Collaborative Learning Across the Curriculum**-- Inspiration Cafe, Chicago

Here you will find three different curricula developed especially for the adult learner who reads at a lower level. The first two are fairly short math topics; Understanding Pi in Math and Learn to Graph Using the City of Chicago. The final, longer, one uses the work place or health issue of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome to practice reading, writing math and presentation skills.

Skill Packs**-- Townshop High School District 214, Arlington Heights
This web based instructional tool provides relevant information written at a low reading level on topics of importance to adult learners. These student-centered materials are designed to increase reading levels while addressing the real-life needs of the target population.


Adventures in Library Use **-- Lewis and Clark Community College, Godfrey
This is a workbook developed to accompany the Easy Guide to Library Services. It is designed to make libraries easy to understand and use for new readers.




Where Am I? (English) **-- Poder Learning Center, Chicago
A two-hour lesson for intermediate level students to understand directions in order to get around in the city. Spanish Version

Literacy Bug **-- The Literacy Connection, Elgin
A site designed with the ESL student and tutor in mind. It has resources to help students learn English and resources to help tutors teach English.

Citizenship Practice and Information
Great site with lots of helpful information. Includes how to fill out a citizenship application, how to file an application, and 100 history and government questions.

Dave's ESL Cafe
Great site for ESL learners of all levels to practice verbs, idioms, slang, grammar, find a friend to chat with, and enter a discussion.
